Epidemiology and Biostatistics (A4)
This module studies the patterns, causes and effects of health and disease conditions in populations. Epidemiology is the foundation of public health and helps form policy decisions and evidence-based practice by identifying risk factors for disease in order to deliver effective preventive healthcare. Essential to this is the identification, collection, statistical analysis and validation of data along with the interpretation and dissemination of results. An understanding of statistical analysis relevant to medicine is essential in order to make efficient use of the data and draw appropriate and significant conclusions.
