Master of Science in Dental Surgery MSc (Clin)
This masters MQF level 7 course continues from the Bachelors level BDSc programme and builds on knowledge and skills gained applying them to the practical arena of professional clinical practice together with the ability to evaluate and apply evidence and reflection to treatment outcomes. The combined Masters / Bachelors degree MSc (Clin) / BDSc facilitates uninterrupted progression from undergraduate study to post graduate level study which will permit graduates to practice as dental surgeons.
The Dental Surgery MSc (Clin) degree teaches clinical dentistry in a supervised clinical environment and an understanding of the importance of evidence-based dentistry and how this relates to clinical practice. Students will be able to evaluate evidence and critically assess its relevance to treatment planning, advice and treatment provision. Graduates will be able to conduct literature searches to find biophysical, behavioural and clinical knowledge and technology to treat disease. They will also be able to deliver clinical education based on a model of prevention designed to promote optimal oral and systemic health.
Clinical training will be delivered from The City of London Dental School (Malta) state of the art clinical facility on Malta.
