Admission and Acceptance Procedure

Thank you for your interest in the course and submitting an application to The City of London Dental School. The following information will be of assistance.

General Information

Only applicants using the form below will be considered. The closing deadline for applications is three months before the published start date for the academic year. Late applications will not normally be considered, regardless of  circumstances, but may be held over for the following academic year. Applicants who meet the eligibility criteria are not guaranteed an offer of acceptance. This is also dependant on your personal statement and interview.

Deferred Entry

The school welcomes applications from those wishing to defer entry by a maximum of twelve months and deferral does not prejudice the application process. Deferral in excess of twelve months is not permissible. Applicants wishing to defer entry by twelve months should provide this information where required during the application process. Applicants who have not indicated on their application form that they wish to defer will not be granted a deferral if they request it subsequently.

Application Process

• Complete the application form below for the BDSc course. The admissions team may need to discuss your suitability for the course so ensure you have input the most up to date and correct contact details. ALL correspondence will be sent to the email address you supply.
• The application fee is £80 for UK and EU students and is non-refundable. This fee is not applicable to international students. These students will be contacted in due course regarding their application.
• Once payment has been authorised by your credit card provider you will receive an email confirming payment and instructions to authenticate and verify your applicant account.
• Once you have successfully verified your City of London Dental School account you will be sent an email explaining what information needs to be uploaded and advice on your personal statement and reference form. The documents required will be the following:
  • Clear copies of your qualifications
  • One reference from either your employer or previous lecturer
  • A personal statement explaining why you wish to study this course and any relevant experience you may have

Applicant On-line Interview

It is recognised that grades and supporting documentation do not reveal all there is to know about a potential applicant, their background, interests and individual circumstances. Once your eligibility for the programme has been confirmed by our verification team a mutually convenient time will be arranged for a web-interview. This is an informal affair which is not an assessment or test. It is designed to ensure that applicants understand clearly the requirements of the programme and  help the school to understand your aspirations and motivations. Your interview will normally be arranged within six months of application providing your documents are in order.

If your application has been successful you will be notified with an offer letter sent via email. Rejection of your application is full and final and The City of London Dental School will not enter in to further correspondence on the matter. You may re-apply providing your initial application was not rejected due to misleading or false information.

Acceptance of your offer

• You must accept your place on the programme within thirty days of the date of the offer to complete your registration.
• In order to retain your place you will need to pay a deposit 20% of the course fee for the year on entry. This must be paid when the offer is accepted and is non-refundable in the event you are unable to attend.
• The balance of the tuition fee is payable in full one month prior to the start of the programme. Payment methods are via BACS or credit card.
