Surgical Basic Sciences (A2)

This module provides a clinical learning experience applying the didactic theory and techniques of exodontia to erupted and partially erupted permanent and deciduous dentition. It has been designed to introduce students to safe surgical practice within a controlled environment where they will be trained to use surgical protocols basic to all forms of surgery. Students will be taught to assess the surgical patient prior to surgery. This module also introduces students to the principles of basic and advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and specifically deals with the identification and management of medical emergencies in dental practice.
