MClinDent In Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics
This challenging MClinDent combines multiple modules, which may also be taken individually as stand alone programmes, offering training to dentists who are considering introducing Orthodontics as a treatment modality to their general or restorative practices.? An important feature of the training is the opportunity it gives participants to practice orthodontics on patients from their own practice under one to one supervision. On completion of the second year you will be able to diagnose malocclusions, competently develop treatment plans and prescribe appliance therapies. Interestingly and unique to this?programme is a unit on the use of neurotoxins as an adjunct to orthodontic treatment.
Key Features:
- The programme provides students with the opportunity to practise orthodontics on their own patients under one-to-one supervision providing the opportunity to develop advanced skills in orthodontics
- Students will be required to complete ten orthodontic cases, five of which will be supervised, leading to the award of the MSc in Orthodontics
- The?programme incorporates an introduction to advanced orthodontics and the multi-disciplinary treatment of malocclusions of a skeletal origin
- The programme follows the criteria of ?Dentists with Special Interest? in orthodontics
- The programme incorporates training in appliance mechanics and placement on typodonts
- Students will learn about the latest advances in computer assisted orthodontics and imaging
- Training will be provided in facial rejuvenation techniques using facial fillers and neurotoxins.
