MClinDent In Oral Surgery

The MSc programme in oral surgery is comprised of multiple modules that can be taken individually or as stand alone programme, offering flexible training to dentists considering introducing oral surgery as a special interest to their practices.  During the programme you will learn how to safely remove impacted teeth and roots, perform surgical endodontics and cyst enucleating with bone augmentation procedures prior to implant treatment along with first and second stage implant surgery.  Interestingly and unique to this programme is a unit on use of neurotoxin and facial fillers.

Key Features:

  • The programme provides students with the opportunity to practise oral surgery on their own patients under one-to-one supervision
  • Students will be required to complete ten oral surgery cases, five of which will be supervised (one of which will be a dental implant), leading to the award of the MSc in Oral Surgery
  • The programme incorporates training in an advanced surgical training centre
  • The programme follows the criteria of ‘Dentists with Special Interest’ in oral surgery
  • Students will be required to present cases that lead to the award of the MSc In Oral Surgery
  • The programme incorporates an introduction to advanced bone grafting techniques and the multi-disciplinary treatment of complex cases
  • Students will learn about the latest advances in computer guided implant positioning and imaging techniques
  • Training will be provided in facial rejuvenation techniques using facial fillers and neurotoxins
